Benjamin A Pettit, AuD
Dr. Pettit has had close connections to the Kirksville area for the past 13 years. Although originally from the West Coast State of Oregon, Dr. Pettit first came to Kirksville in 2007 when he was serving as a traveling missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Dr. Pettit’s love for Kirksville expanded when he married a Kirksville resident, the former Michaila Vorkink in 2010. Together they have six beautiful children, and moved back to Kirksville to open Hearken Hearing & Audiology in 2016. Dr. Pettit finds no greater joy than working and playing with his family. Musically inclined, he enjoys singing, as well as playing the piano, guitar, flute, and ukulele. In fact it was his love of music and sound that first inspired him to pursue a career in Audiology, where he could help people passionately enjoy the sounds of life. Most people would consider Dr. Pettit to be extremely tall, standing 6 feet and 7 inches tall, and yes, he loves playing basketball as well as other sports and physical activities.
Dr. Pettit received his Bachelor’s Degree in communication disorders from Brigham Young University, and his Doctoral Degree in Audiology from Missouri State University. He served as the President Elect of the Missouri Academy of Audiology in 2019 and currently serves as the President of the Missouri Academy of Audiology.
